Condition

An abnormal reduction in bone mineral density associated with an increased risk of fractures. The most common aetiology relates to post-menopausal reductions in circulating oestrogen, and as such this condition far more commonly affects females.

  • Accept for PBSC donation, if no cardiorespiratory abnormalities
  • Accept for BM subject to anaesthetic assessment at work-up. Document any additional risk factors for cardiovascular disease.Β  Anaesthetist for BM procedure must be made aware of condition and pre-anaesthetic assessment at WU.
